Such a peaceful, beautiful, uplifting piece of music. Alex Heffes is the composer behind the musical score for “Dear Frankie”. Of course, he has composed for many other films (including “The Last King of Scotland”), but the music he wrote for “Dear Frankie” remains my favorite. It ranks right up their with John Barry‘s score for “Somewhere In Time”.
Some music just seems to become part of the soul. This music is definitely one of those.

I loved “Dear Frankie”. The music fit so well, like the rocking of a boat on the water. It really is a gorgeous score!
Beautiful job playing it to Blu! I’ve seen a couple of videos on Youtube from other pianists. Yours is really a cut above in performance quality! How long have you been playing?
Aww…thank you Jen! It’s been a while – hope you’re doing good. :)
I don’t really play. I mean, I can’t pick up a piece of music and just play it. I cheat, lol. I knew the song already and I wrote down each note above the musical note on the sheet music. I learned to play by ear as a kid (the single WORST way) and never really learned to read music for real.
Thanks for the complements…you’re too sweet. :)
That is beautiful. That made me cry. I really love that movie too.
Thanks Sis. I had the best time seeing that movie in theater with you. We had the WHOLE place to ourselves! It was awesome. :D
I’ve treasured “Dear Frankie” and been looking for its musical note. Your video is lovely. Could you give me your musical sheet? If you would be so kind, I’ll tell you my email.
I lived in Glasgow where the film was shot for one year. Any small things in the film can take me back to my loved Scotland.
I can give you the link to the place I bought the music from! :)
