No More Entitlement for YOU!
HA! I love it when this kind of thing happens! A little background: Read more…
Yes…it was windy.

Why do you ask? Heh.
Not even Monday can derail the cuteness that is…
Surprised Kitty!!
Thursday.
“Very handy, Thursday…keeps Wednesday and Friday from colliding.” ~Fisk Senior, “Dean Spanley”
Words of wisdom, Fisk…words of wisdom. ;)
Because every Monday needs a little help…

All we want to do is eat your brains…
So many levels of genius, LOL!!! And while we’re on the topic of zombies…(thanks to my Robert for sending me the video link).
Now, I’m not a fan of out right gore, however, “Shaun of the Dead” I could not resist! The title along screamed “MUST WATCH!” It seems Edgar Wright discovered the brilliance of marrying zombies to dry humor and the result is nothing short of facetious hilarity and beautiful sarcasm. There’s even compassion for zombies and zombie rights activism. How could you not love that? :D
For the unprivileged few, a glimpse of the awesomeness that is”Shaun of the Dead”: “Shaun of the Dead” in 5 Minutes (especially :40-:54, BWAHAHAHAHHA!!!)
P.S. If you loved “Shaun of the Dead” but have not yet seen “Hot Fuzz”…you will be kicking yourself. It’s also full of awesome. :D
Defying tragedy

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I’m through with playing by the rules
Of someone else’s game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It’s time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!
It’s time to try
Defying tragedy
I think I’ll try
Defying tragedy
And you can’t pull me down!
Our world is filled these days with tragic, horrible events. Headlines that are splashed about with the kind of senseless mayhem employed by Jack-the-Ripper, tearing down our walls of self assurance and optimism. Personal crisis of one form or another that seem to engulf us and strangle every last drop of happiness onto the ground…it’s almost impossible to find hope anymore, especially in the face of tragedy. However, every now and then you find something that restores your faith in things.
Discovered a blog today. It’s only a little over a year old but compelling doesn’t even begin to describe this one.
It is one man’s journey captured day by day since the birth of his daughter, and the death of his lovely wife. To quote his blog: “matt, liz and madeline: life and death. all in a 27-hour period. what you read here is what follows.”
Excerpted from Matt Logelin’s Blog~
“rip-off city (aka unfairness)”
i can’t help but
think that
madeline
lost the better of
her two parents.
she got a lot
from both of us
(as mentioned previously)
it’s obvious that
liz passed her
good looks
onto
Madeline
but i’m left
here
to make sure
that her hair gets
braided,
that her clothes
match,
(though people have pointed out to me that they’ve bought me outfits with interchangeable parts, just to make me look better).
and that she is properly
accesorized [sic]
As can sometimes happen in “teh internets”, something amazing will occur. The amazing thing that occurred from the tragic loss of Matt’s wife, Liz, and the subsequent spontaneous community that sprang up around his blog, was the formation of a world-wide charitable organization called The Liz Logelin Foundation which offers financial assistance and moral support of young widows and widowers with dependent children.
Defying tragedy. It’s always good to have an example of it. You’re doing a helluva job Matt!!
Twilight.

Walking your dog at twilight is a very surreal experience. The light is all wrong…drenched in yellow, then in pink – a light that kind of surrounds you and is almost tangible. It’s just before the street lights come on but it’s still a little too dark to make things out in the distance.
I was sitting with Lucy in the local elementary school field as I watched the sunset tonight. She was oblivious to what I was seeing, but then, I’m quite sure I was oblivious to what she was smelling (her nose didn’t stop twitching for a second!). The clouds were all piled up on top of each other above us and as the sun began to set, it’s light reached up and set them on fire, which bathed my world in the aforementioned colors of yellow and then pink.
After starring at those beautiful storm clouds for a while, I woke up to the fact that I was quite stupidly sitting in the middle of a field, which is exactly where you DON’T want to be as thunderclouds are rolling in. So…we walked back home.
Would it be too cliche’ to mention the beautiful rainbow that we saw on the way? Probably. Happy evening to you.
